Six years of producing inspirational and international campaigns that recruited the next generation of creative talent.



Because the world needs creativity
The UAL recruitment campaign was built around the statement: "Because the world needs creativity." This became a unifying concept — a bold expression of the university’s values and purpose.
Using the colon from the UAL logo as inspiration, the idea of "a space for creativity" emerged. Student talent was placed at the heart of the campaign, with the two squares from the logo reimagined as a frame to showcase student work — a literal and symbolic platform for creative expression.
Over the course of a year, and with the support of all six UAL colleges, hundreds of student projects were collected and documented across a wide range of disciplines. These stories formed the foundation of a multi-channel recruitment campaign that not only celebrated creativity but let it speak for itself through real student work.

Prospectus was produced with 200 unique covers that showcased student work. This placed a spotlight on the unique creative talent across the six colleges that make University of the Arts London.

Building a suite of photography for UAL
We collaborated with Alys Tomlinson, Photographer of the Year at the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards, to produce a library of over 100 images for UAL. In line with the campaign’s design and tone of voice, the photography focused on placing UAL students at the centre of every narrative. Tomlinson’s signature style human, authentic, and inspirational — brought a honesty to the project, capturing students in real environments and moments that reflect the creativity, individuality, and spirit of the university.
